Thermalytix software analyses the images and generates a quantitative report, which is reviewed by trained radiologists. Published studies have evaluated its performance in particular hospital cohorts. Like any test, it can produce findings that need further assessment. It does not replace clinical advice or standard breast screening.

  • Thermalytix uses software-assisted analysis of thermal breast images, with reports reviewed by trained radiologists at the Hale Clinic. Its clinical performance has been studied in published research. Results should be interpreted alongside clinical assessment and any conventional tests a clinician recommends.

  • Thermalytix uses thermal imaging rather than X-rays. Mammography and other established tests remain important parts of breast screening and diagnosis. Thermalytix is not a substitute for standard screening or the assessment of a new symptom. Speak to a qualified healthcare professional about the tests appropriate for you.

    • Avoid bathing closer than 1 hour before the screening.

    • No yoga, massage or strenuous exercise for at least 3 hours before the screening

    • No food/hot beverages to be taken 1 hour before screening

    • Avoid lotions, creams, deodorants or powders on the chest or underarms on the screening day.

    • Avoid alcohol consumption a day before and on the day of the screening.

    Reschedule your screening if:

    • You’ve got a fever

    • If you have undergone any breast surgeries, wait for 2 months before the screening.

    • No physical stimulation, mammography, ultrasound or any treatment of the breast, chest, neck, or back for 24 hours before the screening.

    • If you have undergone any chemotherapy, screening should be done after 7 days.

Published research includes studies of 258 symptomatic women, 470 symptomatic and asymptomatic women, and 459 women at a secondary-care hospital. These studies report test-performance estimates in their particular cohorts; they do not establish that Thermalytix replaces mammography or improves outcomes. A clinician should interpret an individual’s report and advise on further assessment where needed.
