Art Therapy Retreat

with Dynamic Meditation & Dance

14th-21st Sept 2026, Near Bilbao, Spain

“I noticed a lack of in person Art Therapy Retreats. Going through this process with a community and in a new environment resets your nervous system and allows you space for self-exploration

  • In art therapy, a trained art therapist guides you to use materials to express things that might be:

    • hard to put into words

    • emotionally overwhelming

    • buried or unconscious

Making art can bypass the “thinking brain” and tap into emotions, memories, and sensations more directly.

The key thing: you don’t need to be “good at art.” It’s not about the final product. It’s about the process.

  • Art therapy is commonly used to support:

    • anxiety and depression

    • trauma and grief

    • stress and burnout

    • self-esteem and identity work

    • emotional regulation

It’s used with children, teens, and adults—and can be especially helpful for people who find talking alone difficult.

  • Arrival day: 14th September 2026 (arrive for dinner)

Workshop days: 15th to 20th September

    Departure day: 21st September (morning/noon)

The Retreat is taking place in a Mountain Valley in Spain, Near Bilbao

  • This 6-day Meditative Art and Painting Retreat offers a safe, nourishing space to explore painting as a form of meditation and self-discovery. It is not about learning techniques or becoming a “better” painter in the traditional sense. Instead, it is about giving yourself full permission to be authentic — to express freely, rediscover your aliveness, and reconnect with the natural joy of creativity, free from pressure or expectation.

Through guided creative processes, you will be invited to let go of judgment and allow painting to become a doorway into presence, inner silence, and self-exploration. No previous painting experience is needed — only a willingness to be open and curious.

Alongside painting, the retreat includes dynamic meditation, dance, Kundalini meditation, therapeutic exercises, and personal sharing in a supportive group space. Each element is designed to help you move from the mind into the body, from effort into flow, and from control into trust.

The workshop will be conducted in English.

  • Our daily schedule includes two active meditations and will look approximately like this:

(Please note that the times are flexible and may be adjusted as needed)

    15:00 – 18:15                    Workshop - Painting session

    18:15 – 19:15                    Kundalini Meditation

19:15 – 20:00                   Break (for example: time for shower)

    20:00 – 21:00                 Dinner

21:15 – ca. 22.15            We offer some evening Sessions (for example: Night Painting Session, Personal Sharing amongst other activities)

  • In this painting retreat, we return to our original innocence — to the spontaneous, unconditioned expression that lives beneath personality and habit. We begin to sense the source from which our actions arise.

A true creative act is born out of inner silence. It carries spontaneity, often surprising us in the most beautiful ways. Authentic creativity unfolds when we become more sensitive, more open, and more alive. We enter a state of being — a meditative space that is non-serious, joyful, innocent, and loving. When we experience this quality through painting, we discover that it is not limited to the canvas; it can infuse our daily lives and everything we do.

We begin the retreat with a powerful process called Primal Painting. Here, we play with colours, explore creativity together, and gently recognize our limitations and habitual patterns — not to fight them, but to move beyond them with awareness. As we relax and allow universal energy to flow through us, the doors of creativity naturally open. Painting in this way becomes a gateway to understanding what creativity truly is, while offering deep healing for the heart.

In the second half of the retreat, we move into nature — into the living temple of existence. Sitting among apple trees heavy with fruit, or beside a whispering stream in the forest, we open ourselves to the rhythms of the earth. Without concept or intention, painting becomes a communion.

We do not try to capture nature — we enter into relationship with it. We breathe with the trees. We listen to the silence between sounds. We allow our hands to move as an extension of the wind, the water, the light. In this merging, the painter disappears, and only painting remains.
