José A. Barrientos was born in Chile a while ago, and grew up in Europe. He moved to London in 1995 and obtained under- and post-graduate degrees in Anatomy from University College London and Oxford.
He received his yoga training by direct students of BKS Iyengar, and has had the honour to train with both BKS Iyengar himself, and also his daughter Geeta, in London and abroad. He still trains with his teacher, and is happy to admit he has still got a lot to learn!
José follows the classical Iyengar Yoga way of practice and teaching. During each month he will guide his students through standing poses, forward and back bends, inversions, twists, and restorative work, thereby providing a channel for his students to receive the full benefits of yoga.
His teaching style is precise, with a keen eye for detail, and throws in a fair bit of humour as well!
